Single tooth cutters with left-hand twist, also called downcut cutters, are mainly used on hand-guided machines or for holding down thin materials on the vacuum plate. When piercing the base, the material is pressed downwards compared to right-hand twist cutters and loosening or pulling up of the material from the vacuum plate is considerably reduced.

Applications:

- For thin materials
- Presses chips to the bottom
- Prevents slipping of the workpiece
- No burr formation on the top side
